Below is the CyberAssistant control panel window. All options on the control panel are immediate. No restart of your system is necessary for the changes to take affect (other than the initial restart when you first install CyberAssistant).
CyberAssistant uses the default system voice. You can change the voice and some of its attributes by using Apple's "Speech" control panel located under your Apple menu.
Clicking on the icon at the upper-left of the window will bring up an about box showing some brief credits.
 
Below is a brief description of many features found on the Control Panel:
Personality
This popup menu allow you to select the personality of your CyberAssistant. The personality affects the type of startup and periodic messages that may be spoken. The categories are Business-like, Casual, Humorous and Rude. Experiment and have fun.
Startup message
This check box allow you to turn on and off the startup message. The startup message is a random greeting that is spoken each time your Macintosh is started.
Idle message
This check box allow you to turn on or off a message that is spoken when your system remains idle for too long. With this option enabled, each time your system is idle for more than the time specified on the Idle slider bar control, a random message is spoken. The actual messages depend on the personality selected for your CyberAssistant.
Speak time each half hour
When this option is enabled, your system will speak the time each half hour.
File sharing
This popup menu allows you to specify a setting for file sharing. Each time your system is started, file sharing will be modified to meet this request. The values are Leave alone, On or Off. AppleEvents are used for this option in order to maintain compatibility.
Monitor depth
This popup menu allows you to specify the monitor depth you want your system started up in each time you boot. The values are Leave alone, Black & white, 16 colors, 256 colors, Thousands of colors and Millions of colors. The depths not available to you because of hardware are disabled and are not selectable. You should see the same available options that you see in the Monitors control panel.
HD space warning
This popup menu allows you to receive a voice warning each time your startup disk falls below a certain amount of available space. You will receive this notice only once (at startup). This can be really useful in warning you of possible problems before you start work.
Empty trash
When this option is enabled, the trash will be emptied each time your system is started. AppleEvents are used for this option in order to maintain compatibility.
Idle (Mins)
This slider bar allows you to specify the number of minutes of inactivity before CyberAssistant considers the system idle. If you have enabled idle speech, then this value indicates the time between inactivity and the idle speech.
Registration
This button will display a registration dialog where you can enter a registration code. Once you have obtained and entered a valid registration code, your name will appear on the control panel window and the voice reminder about registration will no longer be spoken each time you open the control panel.
